O'Melveny Park 05-2009
|
Saw this 'yellow' mountain a few weeks ago while dropping off the kids to their art class, and thought, "I've got to
take a picture of this!" So, I went back there over the weekend, and was pleasantly surprised that the O'Melley Park
is where all this beautiful 'color' is happening!
Turns out there are lots of birds here. I've since went back a few times with my 'big' camera and have had quite
a lot of fun taking pictures.

I would love to live here, but the fire hazard is too great. |

Hannah has a special love for reptile. |

Yes, I thread danger to capture some pictures for my site! :) |

Trasher walking around looking for worms. |

This bird is the first thing I saw when I entered the park. I kicked myself for not bringing my EOS camera.
I only have a point and shoot, so the quality is not as good :(
|
Can't figure out what bird this is from my 'Bird Dictionary'. |
So, when I went back a second time and found this Western Bluebird again (with Hannah's help), I was over joyed!
Since it hangs out in this park, it was really not too afraid of people, so I was able to get quite close to it. Look
at the slug it dug out!

Spring has brought back veggitation to this once burnt area. |
|
Spring brought lots of these white flowers blooming in the park. |
