Insects

moth.jpg

Bugs are hard to photograph, because they are so tiny.  Some simply move too fast for my camera, but when I do capture an image, it is just so rewarding.

These butterflies were taken at Pismo Beach, during the Monarch butterfly's annual migration.  You can go here to get more information: http://www.classic-california.com/monarch.htm

In the spring, the orange blossoms on my orange tree attracks hundreds of bees.  When I stand under the orange tree, I felt like I am standing under a bee hive.  All I can hear is bee hum.

Worm alert!

A tobacco hormworm on my tomato plant

Found this caterpillar on my tomato plant a few weeks ago.  First we thought it was a cute thing, white cheveron strips, little black spot, and that cute little horn on the tail!  Then it grew and grew and it became more 'rugged' and wrinkly (old age?!), and I think it is getting ready to spin into a coocoon soon.  You can get more information on this moth on this website: http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/insect/05517.html

Photography is capturing a tidbit of God's creation on paper/screen.
